Derecktor to Develop New US Superyacht Hub

St. Lucie County Commissioners unanimously chose Derecktor Shipyards to create and manage a facility servicing large yachts in Fort Pierce, Fla. on Nov. 14. Located about 100 miles north of Fort Lauderdale and about 40 miles north of Palm Beach, the shipyard will develop a proposal for a mutually agreeable lease and contract to develop the 290-acre port, with deep water draft, easy land access and no fixed bridges.Derecktor was established in 1947 by the late Bob Derecktor, a competitive sailor in his own right with his personal fleet of “goose” sailboats…

On July 27 DAMEN SeaXplorer marked a milestone in the construction of the SeaXplorer 77 expedition yacht at a keel laying ceremony at Damen Shipyards Galati on the banks of the Danube. The owner attended the ceremony and welded the traditional coin on the keel. Yacht builder Heesen announced the delivery of the first yacht in its new 50 meter Steel Class, Omaha.YN 18350, christened Omaha, has been delivered to her owners following intensive sea trials in the North Sea in favorable weather conditions, with seas ranging from calm to moderate.Omaha exceeded the contractual speed, reaching 16 knots, and proved to be extremely maneuverable in all conditions thanks to her large rudders in combination with the power steering unit. Bering 65 Serge's Record Non-Refueling Cruise

Bering 65 Serge launched in 2015, this year made a record non-refueling crossing of 4,200 nautical miles from Thailand to Vladivostok in 27 days.All the way the vessel towed a 9 meter Hysucat sea boat with a displacement of 3,500 liters including a fuel reserve.
